BGR Properties¶
Use this dialog to define a BGR application layer.
Where do I find the dialog?¶
Select BGR application layer in the vertical list field, right-click and select Properties.
About BGR application layers¶
Application layers of this type have a connection to a BGR file (BackGroundRaster) which can in turn point to one or more image files. This allows an application layer to handle multiple data sources in raster form.
Adding image files¶
Click Define to add image files (raster) to the BGR file. The images you add here get the correct placement in the map if the images have an associated world file.
Note
The exception is tiff files. You do not need to generate the tfw file to place the images in the right place in the terrain, as long as this information is available in the tiff file (geotiff).
Georeferencing¶
Click Georeference to georeference image files (raster). See dialog help for a detailed description of the procedure.
Area selection¶
You can choose whether you want to use the terrain model area or the screen area:
- Terrain model area: Image is not updated on zoom. It has the same resolution regardless of screen area.
- Screen area: The image is updated when the area changes.
Info
When using terrain model area, it is the Max. number of pixels in raster images value in the Drawing Settings dialog that controls the number of pixels in the image. The image is regenerated every time you change the size of the terrain model area.
Background color¶
Furthermore, you can set the desired color for areas not covered by the BGR file with Select.
3D connection¶
With Connect to layer type in 3D you can connect the raster image to a self-selected layer so that the image is draped over this layer in 3D viewing. The layer number will also be displayed in the application layer list, so you can see the connection directly.
