Import Georeferenced Photo¶
Use this dialog to import georeferenced photos.
Where can I find the dialog?¶
In the application layer properties dialog, select the Import/Export tab and click Import Georeferenced Photo... under the group for other formats.
How Does the Import Work?¶
The photos are copied to a subfolder in the project. The default folder is Pictures, but you can create new ones as needed. Subfolders for the photos are specified in the Gemini Terrain Settings dialog - Project - Hyperlink Folders.
The import function reads the coordinates in the photo and creates a corresponding point object. The photo is then linked as a hyperlink to the point object.
Hyperlink Attributes¶
Rules for the hyperlink attribute to which the photo is linked:
- If
S_HYPERLINKis defined in the application layer, it is used - If
S_HYPERLINKis not defined, the function searches for hyperlink attributes in the application layer, and the first one found is used, for examplefotolinkin the XSD schema for LedningsnettEtablertEllerFlyttet - If no hyperlink attributes are found,
S_HYPERLINKis created
EXIF Attributes¶
By default, one point is created for each photo. The EXIF attributes DateTimeOriginal and ImgDirection are also included. You can choose which application layer attributes these should be stored in. The default is DATE_TIME_ORIGINAL and IMG_DIRECTION. Optionally, select other attributes from the dropdown menus.
If the photo contains direction information, this is also set as rotation on the point (0 towards north and rotation counterclockwise). You can then set up a presentation rule, for example a camera symbol, so you can see the direction the photo was taken.
Procedure
- Click the Import Georeferenced Photo button.
- Select all jpg files and click Open.
- Choose a subfolder for the attachments in the hyperlinks.
- Select attributes for cross-reference.
- Click Import.
Grouping Photos¶
Photos taken close to each other can be linked to the same point using the Group photos within option. In this field, specify a radius for when multiple photos should be linked to the same point.
Note
Note that the attributes DATE_TIME_ORIGINAL and IMG_DIRECTION will not be imported in this case.
