Reduce Number of Points

Use this dialog to reduce the number of points in a point cloud.

Where can I find the dialog?

In the context menu in the terrain model drawing, when a point cloud is selected, choose Tools - Reduce Number of Points...

Available Methods

The following methods are available:

  • Remove gross errors (noise)
  • Reduce by cell size
  • Remove points in flat areas

Procedure

  1. Select the point cloud in the map and choose Reduce Number of Points... from the context menu.
  2. Select the desired method.
  3. Select the application layer where the result should be stored.
    Removed points can also be placed in a separate point cloud object.
  4. Click OK to perform the processing.
