Profiles: Grid

Use this dialog to set up the appearance of the grid.

Where do I find the dialog?

Navigation

On the toolbar, select Gemini Terrain Settings... and then Profiles: Grid under Project Presentation.

Grid Configuration

You can define both primary grid and secondary grid, and you can give these different colors. You also determine the size of the labels, as well as distance from X- and Y-axis.

Saving settings

By default, the program saves the settings in terproj.ini. Terproj.ini is located in the project directory. This assumes that ProjectIniFileMode=0 in ter.ini.

If you set ProjectIniFileMode=2, you get a file for each drawing (xxxx4nnn.ini), which means you can have different settings for different drawings in the project.

You can define grids for:

  • Longitudinal profile drawings
  • Cross-section drawings
  • NT command (free grid)

Longitudinal Profile

Often you use different values for horizontal and vertical scale. You may need to take this into account when you specify values for primary and secondary grid.

Example

  • Horizontal scale: 1000
  • Vertical scale: 200
  • Primary grid: Horizontal interval: 50, Vertical interval: 10
  • Secondary grid: Horizontal interval: 5, Vertical interval: 1

End labels

The Adjust end labels checkbox is used to adjust the labels at the ends so that they do not conflict with other text or headings. This is on for longitudinal profile.

Cross Sections

Example

  • Horizontal scale: 1000
  • Vertical scale: 200

Automatic adjustment

For cross sections, there is automatically some space above and below the profile. The following rule applies: for the primary grid, the program rounds up and down to the nearest value.
